Well Display in Sections and 3D

Insight section and 3D views can display wells using different methods. The default is to use the display settings specified in the Well Details in the Control Panel. A view can use its own settings to provide a custom well display.

By default, well display settings are linked. Changes to the well display settings are shared between views. See Linking to find out how to use links.

Well Settings in Section Views

In section views, open the Display Settings window and choose the Wells tab.

  1. In the section view, right-click and choose Display Settings.
  2. Open the Wells tab and select Use the well’s settings.

Well Settings in 3D

In the 3D view, well settings are configured in the Wells tab of the side-bar.

Using the Well’s Settings

When the Use Well Settings option is enabled, each well uses the display settings and curves chosen in the Control Panel > Wells tab. The per-view well display settings are disabled.

To customise the well display for a view, uncheck this option.
