Using the Petro Interp Track
The Petro Interp track displays petrophysical interpretation curves using coloured patterns, with each pattern corresponding to a lithology or fluid. The track is available in the Well Correlation and Single Well views as well as the Synthetics and Predict windows.
Single Well and Well Correlation Views
Adding a Petro Interp track

To add a Petro Interp track in the Single Well and Well Correlation views, navigate to the Tracks tab, click the "+" icon, and select Add petro interp track.

Synthetics and Predict Windows
Selecting the Petro curve set

Select the curve set to display on the Petro Interp track.
- In the Synthetics window, navigate to the Well tab > Petro curve set.
- In the Predict window, navigate to the Selected Well tab > Petro curve set.

- To display the Petro Interp track, navigate to View > Tracks, and click the amber circle next to Petro Interp. The amber circle will turn green. Green indicates that a track is currently displayed, while amber indicates that the track is disabled and not displayed.
- Select the check box to make the value range of the curve automatically fit into the track. You can define your own value range by clearing the check box and then typing the desired value range.
- The field beside the check box allows you to define the track width. A zero value means autofit.
Configuring the Petro Interp Track
- Right-click the Petro Interp track and select Configure Track. This displays the Configure Track window.
-
Track
- Title: Type a title for the track.
- Legend: Click on the amber circle to activate legends for your curves and select the location of the legends box on the track.
- Width: Set the track width in pixels. A zero value (0) will autofit.
-
Axes
- TWT ms: Type the range of values to be displayed on the Y-axis.
- Define the amplitude range for the curves on the X-axis.
- Select the Auto Fit Range check box to automatically set the values based on the range of the curve.
- Values: Select to display the values on the X or Y axis of the tracks.
- Select Linear or Log to display the curves in the wavelet in the linear or log axis space, respectively.
- Grid: Move the slider to the right to increase the number of horizontal or vertical grid lines in the track.
-
Curves
- The Curves section lists all the curves that are available for display in the track. Click the green/amber circle to hide/display the curves in the track.
- You can select to display the curve in line or filled gradient colours. Click the Show curve as lines or filled icon to change the display of the curve to line or filled gradient colours.
-
Colourbar:
- For a line curve, you can change the line colour and transparency. Click the colour box and select the colour of your choice. Open the Select Colour window for more colour options and adjust the transparency.
- For a curve displayed in filled gradient colours, you can select the colour bar to be used. Click the Fill from left or right arrow to display the curve in filled colours from the left or right direction.
- Line Thickness: Type or click the up/down arrows to adjust the line thickness of the curve
Tip: Right-click the Petro Interp track and select Zoom to Fit to display the entire track.
