How do I send large files to DUG Support?

If you need to send us a file that is too large to email — for example, SEG-Y data, log files, or a project database requested for troubleshooting — reply to your support ticket, and we will set you up with a secure file transfer.

Note: We understand that the contents of any data sent to us are confidential and intended for testing and bug fixing purposes only. Under no circumstances will the data be shared or distributed to anyone other than those necessary to solve your problem. Once we have solved the problem and closed the support ticket, your data will be removed from our system.

Requesting access

Reply to your support ticket or email [email protected] to let us know you need to send a large file. We will create a temporary account on our file transfer service and send you a site address, username and password.

Uploading your file

Once you have your credentials, you can upload files either through a web browser or an SFTP client:

  • Web browser: Go to the site address we provided (for example, https://filetransfer-perth.dug.com) and log in with your username and password.
  • SFTP client (such as FileZilla): Connect to the site address using the SFTP protocol with your username and password.

Drag and drop your files into the folder shown after logging in.

Confirming your upload

Reply to your support ticket, or email [email protected], to let us know the upload is complete and include the name(s) of the file(s) you sent. After the problem has been identified, we will revert to you with the outcome — see How to download, unzip and load volumes and surveys into Insight? if we send you data to load back into Insight.
